Fender Super Sonic 60 Head/Combo, ALL TUBE.
Ok this is a combo that was converted to a head. The reason is the head does not have the "famous" Fender reverb and it was a must. Instead of using the typical tolex covered cabinet a special one was built to add character to the head. It was made of Black Walnut and Maple. It is built like a tank. The chassis is set back a little in the cabinet to keep the knobs from taken abuse and from accidental change of the settings. There is plenty of room to make adjustments though. Pretty smart concept.
This is considered a two channel amp but I consider it a three channel. The reason is the clean channel actually has two channels. One is the Vibrolux and the other is a Bassman. Before you think this is a modeling amp please note, each channel is wired to the same specs as the original amp. It has it's own preamp stage and of course does share the power amp stage. They are VERY close to the original. The vibrolux is as close as you can get. The bassman actually has a little more bass then the original. Other than that you would be hard pressed to tell them apart in a blind listen. Now to the dirty side of things. Fender calls it the Burn channel. It has a dual cascading gain stage. So you have two separate gain controls. This gives you a tremendous amount of tonal control and offers one of the widest ranges I have ever seen in an amp. Again, no modeling as this is all tube but if you had to compare what this amp is capable of, think of a Cyber Twin without the effects. You can go from twang to all but high gain. If you need to get into that range add a distortion pedal and you can play any style of music you want just one all tube amp. 3 band eq. as the norm, Master Reverb, effects loop, and 3 button foot switch.And of course it has the Fender long spring Accutronics reverb. I have included a link below that shows a Fender demo of the amp. You can see what this baby does. The combo list for $1900 and sells for $1400. All things considered that it has the reverb in a custom built head cabinet I am listing it at $750. Took it in on trade and do not have any need for an amp like this.
